Guy Thompson, EnTrade’s Managing Director, has been honoured as one of the ENDS Power List Environmentalists of the Year 2025.

The ENDS Power List champions the 100 UK environmental professionals - and politicians - whose work has made the greatest impact over the last two years. From academics to activists, campaigners to consultants, lawyers to leaders of professional bodies, and public sector heroes to private sector pioneers.

The criteria ENDS set for demonstrating impact are intentionally broad. Individuals who make the final list may have shaped or influenced national or local environmental policy. Their actions may have enhanced the reputation of the environmental profession. Their work may have resulted in demonstrable and positive environmental improvements. Or they may be unsung heroes whose work is delivering positive change without receiving the recognition you feel they deserve.

The nomination of EnTrade’s Managing Director highlights the growing recognition that the private sector has a critical role to play in tackling systemic environmental challenges.

Guy Thompson said: "I'm honoured to be nominated for the ENDS Power List Environmentalist of the Year 2025 - a recognition I am happy to accept on behalf of the incredible team at EnTrade and our partners working at the frontier of environmental innovation. This recognition means a great deal because it speaks to a question I've worked on throughout my career: how do we make environmental ambition deliver in the real world?"

Across the country, some forward-thinking businesses are working in partnership with the farming industry, Local Authorities, water companies and NGOs to develop high integrity schemes that can unlock private investment in nature recovery. With environmental ambition under pressure, bridging the gap between intention and real-world impact has never been more urgent.

EnTrade is proving that market-based, data-led solutions can play a vital role in restoring nature, improving water quality and achieving net zero. By unlocking private investment in nature-based solutions, EnTrade helps landholders, businesses and NGOs collaborate efficiently, transparently and at scale.

Guy added, "Our goal at EnTrade is to demonstrate how innovation can support a regulatory system that's focused on outcomes – helping to deliver environmental recovery, whilst enabling sustainable economic growth. I sincerely hope my nomination to this prestigious list of influential environmentalists serves to highlight the pivotal work we are doing at EnTrade.  My thanks to the ENDS Report for the nomination and to everyone out there who is already showing what's possible when sectors work together to drive meaningful change."
